The MM-16 gives a full plating surface with a narrow rim and 1" of total height, and the Miami embossing is worked into the border rather than printed on the face, so cutlery marks and wear do not show as pattern loss. It is the round below the 11-1/4" MM-20 and above the 9-3/4" MM-9 in the same line, which lets a kitchen step portion sizes without changing pattern. Twelve to the carton.
