Twelve inches across and 1-3/4" deep, the MM-120 is a pasta bowl built wide rather than deep. Twenty-four ounces sounds generous until the width is accounted for: the volume is spread thin, which is exactly what a dressed pasta, a grain bowl or a shallow curry wants.

Food arrives looking like a plated dish rather than a serving of soup. The broad, almost flat rim takes a hand cleanly and gives a server somewhere to set a spoon. Its sibling the 11-1/2" MM-115 is narrower and a quarter inch deeper, which suits anything carrying more liquid.
