This opens Main Land’s plain square ladder, which climbs through 7, 8, 9 and 10 inches before the 12-inch ML-112 is handled as a platter. Six inches takes a roll and a butter pat, a ramekin of pickles, or a single amuse without crowding the cover beside it, and it doubles as an under-plate for a small bowl when a soup course goes out. Because the square tiles against its neighbours, a tasting menu can be laid out in a grid rather than a scatter of rounds.
