A triangle with a round field inside it, eight inches to a side and three quarters of an inch deep. Yanco calls the shape round-in-triangle: the eating surface is a circle, while the outer edge comes to three soft points that give the plate its geometry.
At this size it handles amuse service, a dessert course or a pair of small plates in a tasting menu. The shallow wall keeps the round field reading as the focus rather than the frame. Forty-eight per carton matches the count on the smaller round and square plates.
