At twelve and a quarter inches the LY-1112 is the oversized round of Lyon's coupe family, two inches wider than the LY-1110 and with a quarter inch more rise. That extra band of clear space around a plated centre is what a chef uses when the presentation, rather than the portion, is carrying the dish.
The same dinner plate works as an under-plate: a smaller Lyon piece lands on it cleanly for a two-part service, and the one-and-a-quarter-inch wall keeps a jus from creeping out to the table linen while the cover is being set down.
