Yanco BM-111 Birmingham Melamine 11-1/2" x 1-1/4" Round Plate, Gray Interior and Black Exterior — Case of 12 (1 dz)

At 11-1/2 inches this round gets bought for presentation rather than portion control. A whole fish, a shareable, a composed plate that needs negative space around it: all of them need surface, and this is where Birmingham gives it in a circle rather than an oval.

The 11-1/2 inch round

It carries the same 1-1/4 inch depth as the 10-1/4, so the extra diameter is all working area. Under a dark band of black at the outer wall, the gray well frames plating without a printed rim doing the job. Melamine makes a plate this wide manageable, where china of the same span is heavy enough to slow a server down. Operations order this size in smaller numbers than the everyday dinner round.
