About this product

An oval coupe measuring eight by five and three quarter inches, an inch high at the edge. Short enough that the plate-versus-platter question does not arise: this is a plate, and it is meant for one person's starter rather than for passing.

Ovals suit food that is longer than it is wide, which covers a great deal of what comes off a grill or a slicer. Two sausages, a fillet with a garnish alongside, three canapes in a line. The coupe rise keeps a small amount of jus contained without a rim to catch it, and twenty-four to the case matches the way starters get fired in batches.
