A halved grapefruit wants a wide shallow well rather than a deep one, and that is exactly the shape of the AC-10: 6-1/2 inches across with only an inch and a half of wall. The fruit sits flat and level, and the juice that comes out of it has somewhere to collect.

Thirteen ounces of capacity makes it useful well past breakfast citrus, for cereal, stewed fruit, a chilled soup or a scoop of sorbet with syrup. Compared with the Abco nappie bowls, which hold similar volumes in a much tighter footprint, this one trades depth for face area. White chinaware, packed three dozen to the case, dishwasher and microwave safe.
