The AC-1 is the tall member of Abco's cup-and-saucer pairing, standing 3 inches on a 3-1/4 inch footprint and holding seven ounces. Its partner is the 5-5/8 inch AC-2 saucer, which has the well cut to take this base.
Height rather than width is what distinguishes it from a stacking cup of the same volume: a narrower column of coffee loses heat more slowly, and the handle clears the saucer rim cleanly for a right or left-handed diner. Banquet and table service is where it belongs, rather than a counter where mugs are faster. Thirty-six to the case in white chinaware, safe in both the dishwasher and the microwave.
