This VRSF Race Intercooler is the top tier of VRSF's front-mount intercooler lineup for BMW's F-chassis N20 and N55 platforms. It's a direct bolt-on replacement for the factory intercooler, built around a high-density bar-and-plate core sized 117% larger than the stock unit to keep intake temperatures down as boost and airflow increase on a tuned car.
The factory tube-and-fin core is sized for stock boost levels. Once a car is tuned, it heat-soaks under sustained load, costing power and raising the risk of pre-detonation. VRSF's bar-and-plate core and cast aluminum end tanks are built to handle that extra airflow without the heat soak.
