The factory plastic fuel tank sits in an exposed position, making it susceptible to trail damage from rocks, ledges, and uneven terrain. This heavy-duty skid plate creates a smooth, reinforced surface designed to slide over obstacles and absorb hard impacts with confidence.
Constructed from 1/4" thick 5052 aluminum, this skid plate delivers serious strength without excessive weight. The system is fully bolt-on and includes high-strength 1/8" steel mounting brackets and all necessary hardware for installation.
To ensure compatibility with modern S&B high-capacity fuel tanks, Van Compass engineered a two-piece modular design. The additional front plate bolts on to accommodate OEM tanks, S&B 40-gallon tanks, and S&B 45/47-gallon extended range tanks. On 2023+ AWD vans, the front section also adds protection for the fuel filter assembly.
