About this product
Charity Morgan is a private chef who to athletes who are committed to eating vegan. Her plant-based cooking draws on her own heritage to offer flavorful food with no sense that someone is denying themselves anything.
Puerto Rican, Creole, and American southern flavors and staple foods predominate here in the likes of fluffy biscuits, "cheesy" grits bowls, the handpies known as pastellillos, and am smoky, okra-rich gumbo.
You can cook outside those realms as well, by trying Morgan's chipotle-lime potato salad, cold soba noodles with citrus-miso dressing, or a gochujang jackfruit noodle bowl.
Morgan's recipes sometimes rely more on store-bought meat substitutes than other vegan books we carry, often in the name of convenience. For cooks so inclined she does include many recipes for making your own vegan panty staples, from mayonnaise to dairy cream substitutes.
