About this product
At the heart of this system are two 8-inch diameter blades, each with a 24-tooth configuration and a flat top grind tooth geometry. This innovative design allows the blades to create perfectly flat-bottomed grooves and dados, essential for achieving a clean, professional-looking finish on veneers, melamine and other delicate materials. Notably, the blades incorporate a negative hook angle, which helps prevent tear out and provides excellent results even when working with challenging work pieces.
Complementing the main blades are a set of three high-quality chipper blades in varying widths, 1/8-inch, 1/16-inch and 3/32-inch, that can be used individually or in combination to fine-tune the width of a cut. This modular design grants a woodworker unparalleled flexibility, enabling them to create precisely sized grooves for materials like 15/32-inch and 23/32-inch plywood.
To ensure a perfect fit and optimal performance, the Ridge Carbide Super Stack Dado Set also includes a comprehensive metal shim kit that provides a range of precisely calibrated shims in 0.005-inch, 0.010-inch, 0.015-inch and 0.020-inch thicknesses. Further enhancing the set's versatility and precision, these shims allow for meticulous adjustments to the blade stack to achieve the perfect fit for specific needs.
Fundamental to the exceptional cutting ability of this dado set is the use of large C4 carbide tips on the blades. They not only provide long-lasting edge retention but also allow for multiple sharpening’s over the tool's lifespan. Its robust construction, combined with the set's impressive 5/8-inch arbor size, ensures woodworkers can rely on the Ridge Carbide Super Stack Dado Set to deliver consistently outstanding results, project after project.
