About this product

Sunday is Sandnes Garn's thinnest variant of 100% merino wool and is the perfect base yarn: a thin, non-superwash-treated yarn that can be knitted with single and double strands. It can also be knitted together with Tynn Silk Mohair.

Merino wool is not only insulating, but also wicks moisture away from the body and retains heat even when moist, thanks to the structure of the fibres. Wool can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in water before it starts to feel wet.

Sandnes Garn uses a supplier that has guaranteed that the wool they buy does not come from sheep that have been subjected to mulesing.

Please note that an asterisk * next to the colour name indicates a discontinued colour.

Brand: Sandnes Garn

Fibre: 100% Merino wool

Thickness: Fingering

Yardage/Meterage: 257 yds | 235m

Grams: 50g

Needle Size: US 2.5 | 3mm

Gauge: 28 stitches/4 inches

Texture: Smooth, plied

Colour: Solid, heathered

Put-up: No winding required

Care: For machine washing, it's recommended to wash all wool garments separately on a wool program, to ensure the gentlest treatment. Due to the unique absorbency of the merino wool, it is important to centrifuge hand-knitted garments well before drying  them on a flat surface, preferably on top of a towel. Never use a laundry bag when washing hand-knitted wool garments. This creates friction that can cause the garment to felt.
