About this product
Angelus Sole Bright is a sole whitener that takes the yellowing out of rubber midsoles and clear or icy soles. It's made for sneaker collectors and restorers bringing back pairs that have oxidized over time.
Each bottle is 3.9 oz. We've made Angelus products in Los Angeles since 1907.
Works on
- Rubber midsoles
- Clear and icy soles
Keep it off
- Leather, suede, fabric, and other non-rubber materials, since Sole Bright can burn them
- The netting on Jordan 5s, where it can cause more yellowing
How to use it
- Set the shoe as level as you can so the liquid doesn't run.
- Apply a light to medium coat to the yellowed rubber, going lighter near the edges so it stays off other materials.
- Cover the sole in clear plastic wrap. This keeps the product from evaporating, so don't skip it.
- Leave it in the sun for about 1 hour on midsoles or 4 to 6 hours on clear and icy soles, checking back now and then.
- Repeat as needed. Heavily yellowed and older soles take several sessions.
In very hot weather, stuff the shoe with a sandwich bag of ice to help prevent sole separation.
Make your own sole dye
Mix Sole Bright 50/50 with Angelus Leather Dye or Angelus Suede Dye to dye rubber soles any color you want.
- Apply the mix to the soles and let it dry for a few hours.
- Wipe it off and repeat 2 to 3 times.
- After 24 hours, clean off the extra dye with alcohol or warm, soapy water.
