About this product
📘 Overview
The Haugen skid steer rock bucket (MSRB) is a rock bucket for skid steer work, built for field rock picking, construction clean-up and landscape preparation — an open-tine bucket with 3" tine spacing and a serrated front edge. Heavy duty tines 3/8" thick. Six widths from 60" to 92".
Soil falls through the tines as you work, so you carry rock and debris rather than the dirt around them.

Clearing stone with a standard bucket means lifting soil with every rock — more loads, more trips, and topsoil leaving the field it belongs in.
Three inch tine spacing lets soil fall through as you scoop and shake, so what you carry is what you want gone. On a field being prepared for planting that is the difference between a morning and a day, and the ground keeps its topsoil.
The serrated front edge is what starts material moving. A plain edge rides over packed ground; serrations bite in so the bucket fills instead of skidding.
📏 Choosing a Width
Tine count rises with width — 16 tines at 60" up to 25 at 92" — so spacing stays at 3" across the range and the sorting behaviour is consistent whichever size you pick.
Width should match your machine rather than the field. Weights run 540 to 765 lbs empty, and a bucket full of rock is dense, so the widest bucket that mounts is not necessarily the widest you can work with.
🔍 Rock Bucket or Rod Bucket?
Haugen builds both, and they do the same job with different tine sections:
- MSRB skeleton rock bucket (this one). Flat 3/8" tines at 3" spacing with a serrated edge. Tighter spacing holds smaller stone.
- HRB rod bucket. Round 7/8" rod tines. Round section sheds material cleanly and suits mixed soil and stone.
For fine field stone the tighter skeleton spacing keeps more of it. For larger rock and debris either works.
🚜 Skid Steer Compatibility
Universal skid steer quick attach — fits any skid steer or compact track loader with the standard SSQA interface.
540 to 765 lbs empty. Rock is dense: check your machine's rated operating capacity against a loaded bucket rather than an empty one.
❓ Skid Steer Rock Bucket FAQs
How does a rock bucket work?
Three inch gaps between the tines let soil fall through while rock, roots and debris stay in the bucket. You scoop, shake, and carry away only what you are trying to remove.
What does the serrated edge do?
It bites into packed ground so the bucket fills instead of riding over the surface. A plain cutting edge skids on anything firm.
Which width should I choose?
Match it to your machine rather than the job. Tine spacing stays at 3" across all six widths, so sorting behaviour is the same — width only changes how much you move per pass and how heavy the load gets.
How is this different from the rod bucket?
Tine section. This uses flat 3/8" tines at 3" spacing; the HRB rod bucket uses round 7/8" rod. Tighter skeleton spacing holds finer stone; round rod sheds mixed material more cleanly.
Can I use it as a regular bucket?
No — the open floor is the point of the tool and cannot be closed. For loose material you need a solid bucket.
What does it weigh?
540 lbs at 60" up to 765 lbs at 92". A full bucket of rock is considerably more, so work from your rated operating capacity.
