About this product

Bradco / Paladin built
Sifts soil, keeps debris
72" to 84"

Overview

This Bradco skid steer root grapple — the Root Rake — collects rocks, roots and debris while letting soil sift through. It comes in 72", 78" and 84" widths at 1,095 to 1,220 lbs on a standard skid steer quick attach. Aggressive tine and grapple profiles lock material in place, and the grapple motion pulls material into the bucket area rather than just pinning it.

Key Features of the Bradco Skid Steer Root Grapple

  • Rake design lets soil sift through — you collect the debris and leave the ground.
  • Aggressive tine and grapple profiles that lock material in place once gripped.
  • The grapple motion pulls material into the bucket area, rather than clamping it at the tips.
  • High strength construction with replaceable wear components.
  • Widths 72", 78" and 84" at 1,095–1,220 lbs — a full-size land clearing grapple.
  • A rock and root grapple that works as a sifting grapple: a debris rake that separates as it collects.
  • Sold as the Bradco Root Rake — a root rake grapple, which is what a skid steer root rake is once a powered jaw is added.
  • A root grapple attachment for full-size machines, where the two mini grapples cover smaller carriers.

Why Choose This Skid Steer Root Grapple

  • Separating as you collect saves a second pass. A solid bucket takes the soil with the roots, which then has to be dealt with somewhere else.
  • The pulling motion is the design detail that matters. Material drawn into the body is held securely; material clamped at the tips works loose on the move.
  • Replaceable wear components mean it is repairable. Tines take the punishment on a rake, and being able to replace them is what keeps it in service.

Which Bradco Grapple Do You Need?

Bradco builds three grapples, and they are not duty grades of one another. Each is built for a different kind of material, and the floor or tine design is what decides which.

Grapple What it grabs Floor / tine design Mini Scrap Grapple Scrap, yard waste, demolition debris Solid floor — holds fines as well as bulk Mini Brush Grapple Brush, limbs and branches Open tine — lets soil and fines fall through Root Grapple Rake Rocks, roots and debris Rake tines — sifts soil out as it collects

The other two are mini loader attachments: the mini scrap grapple has a solid floor for scrap and yard waste, and the mini brush grapple uses open tines for brush and limbs. For separating rock from soil in a bucket rather than a rake, the rock bucket uses 2" or 3" tine spacing.

Which Machines Fit This Skid Steer Root Grapple?

This grapple fits a standard skid steer quick attach and requires an auxiliary hydraulic circuit to power the grapple. At 1,095–1,220 lbs it is a substantial attachment — check your rated operating capacity against the rake plus a full load of rock.

Root Grapple Rake Questions, Answered

How is a root rake different from a rock bucket?

A rock bucket holds material in a tined shell. A root rake has a grapple that closes onto the tines, so it grips roots and stumps that would roll out of a bucket.

Will soil really sift through?

That is the design. Loose soil falls between the tines as you collect, so you carry rocks, roots and debris rather than the ground they came from.

Can it handle stumps?

It grips irregular material well because the grapple pulls it into the body. Very large stumps are work for a machine with more lift than a skid steer.

Is it available for mini loaders?

No. At 1,095-1,220 lbs it is a full-size skid steer attachment. The mini brush and mini scrap grapples are the mini loader options.

Is a skid steer root rake the same as a root grapple?

A plain rake has no jaw — it only pushes and gathers. Adding the powered grapple is what lets it pick material up and carry it, which is why this one is both.

How is shipping calculated?

Shipping is calculated at checkout — simply add the item to your cart, enter your delivery address, and the shipping charge will be displayed before you complete your order.
