About this product

All around improved, the Shimano Ultegra BR-R8170 Hydraulic Disc Brake Caliper offers optimised dosing, quieter braking performance and extremely simplified maintenance. A faster-gripping initial braking force always gives the feeling of full control, while a 10% increase in brake pad spacing allows for a significant reduction in noise during braking, despite a flatter overall construction. When paired with the RT-MT900 brake disc rotor (sold separately), its deformation-resistant design helps create an extremely quiet and smooth braking system even with increasing heat.

To simplify maintenance, the hydraulic 2-piston brake caliper features the proven One-Way-Bleeding system plus a separate arrangement of bleed nipple and opening screw, minimising the risk of the bleed kit hose slipping off and removing the need to dismantle the caliper from the frame for bleeding.
