The kit addresses the wear-prone torque converter clutch regulator valve bore, which is a common source of TCC slip complaints and related codes. ⚡Pro Tip: 

  • While installing your TransGo SK 4L60E kit, never reuse a high-mileage separator plate without a close inspection. The 4L60E uses small steel check balls that act as "valves" against the holes in the separator plate. Over time, these steel balls hammer against the aluminum plate, causing the holes to become "peened" or "dished." Eventually, the ball can actually blow through the plate or get stuck in the hole.
  • If you see wear around the check ball holes, don't try to "hammer it flat." Replace it with a new TransGo Separator Plate. It is tempered to be much harder than the factory plate, preventing the check balls from ever sticking or tearing through again.
