"This is my go-to skate recommendation for folks dipping their toes in the derby pool. While it's not a skate you'll wear for years and years, it's got all the touchpoints for a good starter skate and can grow with you while you figure out all of your personal preferences. Removable, adjustable toe stops allow for more flexibility than bolt-ons (necessary for derby)." - Mack
"Everyone starts on an R3, right? I think the number of people who begin playing roller derby on the Riedell R3 really says something. They're a great jumping off point for new skaters, and while they won't last for seasons and seasons, they're dependable. I would definitely recommend these for someone who wants to start playing roller derby!" -Bella
