About this product
New Balance 550 Sea Salt True Red blends retro basketball heritage with a clean, modern color execution. The design revives the classic 1980s 550 silhouette with a Sea Salt base, layered in white leather that keeps the look crisp and versatile, while True Red accents add bold contrast throughout the detailing.
The upper combines structured leather with textile touches in the padded collar, enhancing both comfort and visual depth. A nylon tongue improves breathability, while the TPU heel clip adds rearfoot stability and support. Signature branding elements include the elevated “N” logo on the side panels and an embossed flying NB mark on the heel overlay.
Built on a durable rubber cup sole with an exposed EVA wedge along the medial side, the sneaker maintains its vintage performance DNA while delivering everyday wearability. Released on February 5, 2023, with a retail price of $120, it stands out as a balanced mix of heritage styling, comfort, and clean color blocking.
