The Mishimoto MMINT-F80-15 Performance Air-to-Water Intercooler is a direct-fit replacement for the top-mounted charge-air cooler used on S55-powered BMW F8X models. Designed for the F80 M3, F82/F83 M4 and F87 M2 Competition, it combines a larger bar-and-plate core with cast-aluminum end tanks to improve airflow and charge-air cooling capacity.

Compatibility note: F87 fitment is limited to the S55-powered M2 Competition. This intercooler does not fit the standard N55-powered M2 or M2 LCI.

Understanding Mishimoto's Test Results
The 29% core-volume increase and 16% airflow improvement apply specifically to the Mishimoto intercooler compared with the factory unit.
Mishimoto's temperature and power testing was performed with the complete cooling system installed on a Stage 1-tuned test vehicle. That system included the Mishimoto intercooler, performance heat exchanger and charge pipes. With the complete system, Mishimoto reported intake-manifold temperatures up to 12°F lower than stock, average gains of 11 whp and 8 wtq, and peak gains of 31 hp and 10 lb-ft. These are complete-system test results and should not be interpreted as guaranteed gains from the intercooler alone.

Installation Information
This intercooler is designed as a direct replacement for the factory S55 charge-air cooler. Installation requires transferring the factory expansion tank, temperature sensor and mounting brackets to the Mishimoto intercooler using the supplied hardware.

Is this the top-mount intercooler or front heat exchanger?
This is the top-mounted air-to-water intercooler located above the S55 engine. It is sometimes called a charge-air cooler, charge cooler or water-to-air intercooler. The front-mounted heat exchanger is a separate component.
Does this include the heat exchanger and charge pipes?
No. This listing includes the black Mishimoto intercooler and its mounting hardware only. Choose the Mishimoto Performance Intercooler Power Pack if you want the intercooler, heat exchanger and charge pipes together.
Does it fit the regular BMW F87 M2?
No. F87 compatibility is limited to the S55-powered M2 Competition. The standard M2 and M2 LCI use the N55 engine and require a different intercooler.
Can I use the factory charge pipes?
