  • The Donkey Puncher Boots are traditional logger style boots built to John Lofgren's exacting standards. Renowned for being incredibly comfortable right out the box, the Donkey Punchers are built using Waxed Flesh uppers courtesy of Chicago's Horween tannery. Over time, scuffs and scratches break the leather's waxed surface revealing a heavily textured patina. The boots incorporate classic Goodyear welt construction using USA made storm welts, and come anchored with Vibram's Christy wedge soles. The Donkey Puncher name comes from the operators of the massive “Steam Donkeys,” the engines that powered America’s logging industry at the turn of the 20th century.
    • Built on the John Lofgren 120 last (E-width)
    • Horween waxed flesh uppers

    • Heavy single, double, and triple-stitched sewing
    • Removable kiltie/false tongue
    • 1" heel
    • 6" shaft
    • USA made Vibram 4014 Christy wedge soles

  • The John Lofgren 120 Last runs large and measures an E width. It has a roomy, rounded forefoot and regular heel. We recommend taking a half size (0.5) smaller than your Brannock size. Please email us at sales@blueowl.us for an individual recommendation.
  • Hailing from California, John Lofgren's passion for vintage fashion led him to Japan, where he established his inaugural vintage store, "Honky Tonk Company" (H.T.C.), in 2000. Recognizing the superior quality of vintage-inspired new productions compared to the originals, John transitioned to crafting his own line. His creations draw inspiration from timeless classics, featuring contemporary fits and crafted from the finest materials under ethical conditions. All of John Lofgren's products are exclusively manufactured in Japan.
