About this product

Fabricated stock-width lower control arms for the 2017–2020 Gen 2 Ford Raptor, built from 4130 with a 1.5" uniball at the spindle and 1" uniballs at the frame. They bolt to the factory spindle and work with the factory coil-over shock or a stock-replacement coil-over.

The lower arm carries the front corner of the truck through every hit. These arms are fixture built and MIG welded, with steering stops matched to the spindle and mounts already in place for a bypass shock, a front bump stop and our tunable sway bar, so the front end can grow without replacing the arms again.

What Is In The Kit

  • 1 right side fabricated lower arm with FK uniballs installed
  • 1 left side fabricated lower arm with FK uniballs installed
  • 1 set of 17-4 stainless spacers for the uniballs at the wheel and at the frame
  • 2 12-point 5/8" bolts for the lower uniball at the spindle

The factory lower arm mounting bolts at the frame are reused. See Installation below.

Why A Fabricated Lower Arm

The lower control arm is the main link between the front wheel and the frame. It takes the vertical load from the spring and shock and the fore-aft load of every impact, so it is the part that decides how well the front end holds its shape when the trail gets rough.

These arms swap the factory pivots for uniballs: a 1.5" uniball at the spindle and 1" uniballs at the frame. A uniball gives the arm a defined, solid pivot that rotates through its arc of travel at each end.

The other reason is what comes next. The arms already have bypass shock mounts, a bump stop plate and sway bar mounting tabs built in, so adding a bypass shock, front bump stops or a tunable sway bar later is an add-on, not a second set of arms.

How They Are Built

  • 4130 construction, MIG welded and fixture built for consistent fit from arm to arm.
  • Uniballs at both ends: 1.5" at the spindle connection, 1" at the frame side, FK uniballs installed.
  • Steering stops built in. Billet machined stops are welded into the core of the arm and geometry matched with the spindle, so the steering reaches its limit at the stop rather than at the steering rack.
  • 17-4 stainless spacers machined for every mounting point.
  • Bump stop plate welded on from the factory.
  • Powder coated as the final finish.

Add-On Options

3" bypass shock

The built-in bypass shock mounts let you add a 3" bypass shock, using the add-on upper shock mount kit and a special-layout 3" shock.

Front bump stops

The arms come with the bump stop plate welded on, so our weld-on front bump stop kit can be added to the truck at any time.

Tunable sway bar

The front sway bar kit for the fabricated lower arm mounts to the tabs on these arms and can be added at any time. It uses custom bent sway bar arms with either a 1" or a 1.25" diameter bar, so you can tune the feel to your liking.

Fitment

Fits the 2017–2020 Gen 2 Ford F-150 Raptor. Stock width.

  • Works with the factory spindle/upright.
  • Works with the factory coil-over shock or any aftermarket stock-replacement coil-over.
  • Does not work with the factory sway bar. The arms carry mounting tabs for our fabricated-lower-arm sway bar kit instead.

Installation

Reuse the factory lower arm mounting bolts at the frame. If the truck also has frame support plate kits added at the lower arm mounts, upgraded bolts can be used there instead.

Questions

Can I keep my factory front sway bar?

No. These arms will not work with the factory sway bar. They have tabs for our sway bar kit built for the fabricated lower arm.

Do I need new shocks?

No. The arms work with the factory coil-over shock or an aftermarket stock-replacement coil-over. A 3" bypass shock can be added later with the upper shock mount kit.

Are bolts included?

The kit includes two 12-point 5/8" bolts for the lower uniball at the spindle. The factory bolts are reused at the frame.
