Fiebing’s Pro Dye is a premium, alcohol-based penetrating leather dye made specifically for natural strap leather, vegetable-tanned leather, and bag and case leather. It provides excellent coverage, vivid color, and improved colorfastness compared with traditional leather dye.
Because Pro Dye penetrates into the leather rather than coating the surface, the natural grain, tooling, carving, and stamped detail remain visible. It can be applied with a wool dauber, sponge, cloth, brush, or spray equipment, and additional light coats can be used to build the color to the desired depth.
Pro Dye is a good choice for belts, wallets, holsters, sheaths, notebook covers, bags, cases, saddlery, and other smooth vegetable-tanned leather projects where rich, even color and good color retention are important.
Please Note: Use on clean, unfinished leather and allow the dye to dry completely before buffing away any unabsorbed pigment. Always test on a scrap piece before applying it to the finished project, as final color will vary depending on the leather, surface preparation, and application method.
