About this product
The EXR7281 Kayak, SUP & Board Foam Protector Set is a purpose-built padding solution designed to protect watercraft and gear during roof transport. These foam pads provide a cushioned interface between your equipment and roof-mounted carriers, helping reduce pressure points, vibration, and surface wear.
The EXR7281 is available in two length variants and is designed to fit tubing sizes from ¾″ to 1¼″ diameter, making it compatible with EXR carriers as well as many aftermarket rack and basket systems.
Variant Fitment & Sizing
- 27″ length – Designed to fit the EXR5181 Kayak Basket
- 29″ length – Designed to fit the EXR8891 Kayak Carriers
Please select the correct variant based on your carrier type and application.
Primary Uses
The EXR7281 foam protectors may be used as:
- Primary padding for kayaks, SUPs, surfboards, and other watercraft
- Protective contact surfaces for gear carried in baskets or carriers
- Replacement foam pads for EXR kayak baskets or carriers if original pads are lost or damaged
They may be used with EXR systems or adapted to many third-party carriers with compatible tubing sizes.
Material & Design
- Dense, closed-cell foam construction
- Designed to absorb vibration and road shock
- Helps protect delicate hulls and board finishes
- Weather-resistant for long-term outdoor use
Optional Strap Compatibility
The foam pads may be used with or without straps. Customers who wish to permanently mount the foam to a carrier or crossbar may optionally add EXR1591 Velcro Straps (sold separately).
