About this product
Every lettering practice starts here: with a single black pen and a blank page. The Tombow Dual Brush Pen in Black is the workhorse of any hand letterer's toolkit — it's the pen I use in almost every demo, every course video, and every workbook.
What makes this pen so good for lettering is the brush tip. It's flexible and responds to pressure, which means you can create the thick downstrokes and thin upstrokes that give brush lettering its signature look. The fine tip on the other end is great for outlining, adding details, or practicing with a more controlled line. It's genuinely two pens in one.
If you're just starting out and want to try lettering with a single pen before investing in a set — start here. And if you already have color packs, a black dual brush pen is the perfect companion for adding outlines, shadows, and text contrast.
• Flexible brush tip + fine tip in one marker
• Black water-based ink — rich and consistent
• Acid-free and odorless
• Nylon brush tip retains its point stroke after stroke
Works perfectly with all HLD workbooks and our Lettering Tracing Paper Pad.
