  • Competition Clutch Twin Disc Throwout Bearing (TM5-8026-TBA) - B & K Series

Running a Competition Clutch 4-series twin disc behind a B-series or K-series manual? The stock Honda release bearing doesn't have the profile to release that taller, harder-clamping stack, so these kits are built around a dedicated bearing. This is that part, TM5-8026-TBA. It's the release bearing for the 4-8026-C, 4-8037-C, and 4-8017-C twin disc kits, sold as one bearing on its own, not a complete clutch.

⚠ MAKE SURE THIS IS THE RIGHT BEARING

Competition Clutch makes several similar-looking throwout bearings that do not interchange. This one (TM5-8026-TBA) is for the 4-series twin disc kits only. It is not the 184mm race bearing (5-0826 / 5-0837), and not the Super Single bearing (TM5-8026-TBASS). Match the exact clutch kit already in your car before ordering.

What It Is And Why These Kits Need It

Worth understanding, because it explains why you can't just use the factory bearing.

A 4-series twin disc clamps harder and stacks taller than a stock Honda single disc. That different geometry means the factory release bearing doesn't have the right profile to release the clutch properly, so Competition Clutch designed these kits around a dedicated bearing instead.

TM5-8026-TBA is that dedicated bearing, sold individually for Competition Clutch's B-series and K-series twin disc kits (and, per authorized dealers, those same families' triple disc setups). You're buying the bearing only, the pressure plate, discs, and flywheel are the rest of the kit, not included here.

    Which Bearing You Actually Have

This is the part that trips people up, because Competition Clutch's bearings look similar and don't cross over.

This bearing (TM5-8026-TBA) is for the 4-series twin disc kits: 4-8026-C, 4-8037-C, and 4-8017-C.

    It is not the 184mm race bearings. The 5-0826 / 5-0826S (184mm B/H kits) and 5-0837 / 5-0837S (184mm K kits) are a different 7.25" race line entirely. If you're on a 184mm kit, you need those, not this.

It is not the Super Single bearing (TM5-8026-TBASS), despite the similar number.

The rule: match the bearing to the exact clutch kit in your car, not to the chassis or engine. Ordering this for a 184mm kit, or a 184mm bearing for a 4-series kit, means the wrong part, so confirm which kit you're running first.

    Which Kits This Fits

Fitment follows the clutch kit, not the year or badge. Use this bearing if your car already runs one of these:

Clutch Kit Part Number Competition Clutch B-Series Twin Disc 4-8026-C Competition Clutch K-Series Rigid Twin Disc 4-8037-C Competition Clutch Race Twin Disc (D/B/K Series) 4-8017-C

Whether that's a B18C1 Integra, a B16A2 Civic, a K20A2 RSX, or a K24 swap, if it runs one of those kits, this is the bearing for the stack. It does not fit a stock Honda clutch, a single-disc street kit, the Super Single bearing (TM5-8026-TBASS), or the 184mm race bearings (5-0826 / 5-0837).

Do It Right While You're In There

Practical advice, because the labor is the expensive part of this job.

Pulling a B-series or K-series transmission is the costly, time-consuming part, the bearing is cheap by comparison. So don't reuse a tired bearing on a fresh clutch, and don't try the stock Honda bearing on a 4-series twin disc. A worn bearing that starts howling a month later means pulling the transmission again to do everything twice.

While the transmission is out, replace the pilot bushing and inspect the release fork and fork pivot. That's standard practice on these cars, and it's far cheaper to do now than after you've buttoned everything back up.

    What To Expect

Two things that are normal for this setup, not faults.

Set up a clutch pedal stop so you're not over-stroking the release system. And expect the on/off engagement that comes with an unsprung twin disc, it's aggressive by nature, which is the point of a race clutch. Neither is a problem with the bearing; both are characteristics of running a twin disc.

    Fitment

Competition Clutch 4-series twin disc kits: 4-8026-C (B-series), 4-8037-C (K-series rigid), 4-8017-C (D/B/K race). Also listed by dealers for those families' triple disc setups.

    Part number TM5-8026-TBA. Sold individually.

    Who Should Grab This

This is for the owner running a Competition Clutch 4-series B or K twin disc who needs to replace the dedicated release bearing, or refresh it while the transmission is out for other work. One bearing, the correct one for these specific kits. Confirm your exact kit, replace your pilot bushing while you're in there, and don't reuse the old bearing on a fresh clutch.

Part number: TM5-8026-TBA. Type: throwout / release bearing, sold individually. Works with: Competition Clutch 4-8026-C, 4-8037-C, and 4-8017-C twin disc kits (and those families' triple disc setups per dealers). Box contents: one bearing, no disc, plate, or flywheel. Not: 5-0826 / 5-0826S / 5-0837 / 5-0837S (184mm), or TM5-8026-TBASS (Super Single). Note: match to your exact clutch kit; requires a pedal stop.

  • Fitment

Fitment follows the clutch kit, not the chassis badge. Competition Clutch does not publish a TM5-8026-TBA year chart. Authorized dealers title this bearing for B-series and K-series twin disc kits. Use it when the car already runs one of the 4-series kits below.

Clutch Kit Part Number Competition Clutch B Series Twin Disc Clutch Kit 4-8026-C Competition Clutch K Series Rigid Twin Disc Clutch Kit 4-8037-C Competition Clutch Race Twin Disc (D/B/K Series) 4-8017-C

If your car runs one of those kits, whether that's a B18C1 Integra, a B16A2 Civic, a K20A2 RSX, or a K24 swap, this is the bearing for that stack. It doesn't fit a stock Honda clutch, a single-disc street kit, the Super Single 7.25 bearing (TM5-8026-TBASS), or the 184mm 5-0826 / 5-0837 race bearings. Match the kit already in the car before you order.
