About this product
On a well-laid table, the Cabbage charger plate brings quiet elegance and the charm of craft to the forefront. Its textured surface, shaped like overlapping leaves, seems almost alive under the light. Whether in soft beige or fresh green, it adds a natural rhythm to the dining setting, refined yet approachable, sculptural yet familiar. More than a plate, it’s a curated design piece that transforms dining into an act of storytelling through material and form.
Art and Heritage at the Table
The Bordallo Pinheiro Cabbage charger plate embodies centuries of Portuguese craftsmanship reimagined for the modern home. Each piece honors the country’s ceramic legacy while celebrating contemporary style. Placed beneath fine dinnerware, it lends depth and distinction to any luxury table setting, echoing the rituals of hospitality that define elegant living.
Texture, Craft, and Color Emotion
Made from fine terracotta and hand painted by expert artisans, this terracotta charger plate showcases the tactile beauty of nature. The glaze, applied in thin, fluid layers, brings out soft transitions of color that move from matte to luminous with each glance. Available in delicate beige or classic green, the plate’s finish captures both serenity and vibrancy, a dialogue between material warmth and refined precision that defines ceramic dinnerware at its highest expression.
Design Intent and Aesthetic Harmony
The design plays on the contrast between organic detail and formal proportion. The cabbagelike structure, sculpted with meticulous care, creates a visual framework that supports the rest of the table composition. It functions not just as a base, but as an architectural foundation for presentation, a hand painted charger plate that anchors the entire setting in balance and grace. Its texture invites the eye to linger, redefining what a decorative plate can be.
