About this product
First introduced to the Burleigh pattern book in 1968, Blue Calico has been a beloved design ever since. Inspired by 19th-century indigo textiles, each piece is handcrafted in the heart of The Potteries, showcasing rich cobalt blue tones and a timeless scrolling blossom motif.
Whether for everyday meals or special occasions, this classic pattern brings effortless charm to any table. Perfect for appetizers, dipping, condiments, snacks, coaster, and yes - butter!
Let's help preserve England's iconic Stoke-on-Kent potteries! Each plate is meticulously hand-decorated by skilled artisans using Burleigh’s centuries-old tissue transfer printing technique, a method that transfers intricate designs from hand-engraved copper rollers. This dedication to craftsmanship ensures every piece is as unique as the hands that create it, making it a cherished addition to your collection.
