The Baumalight CXC542 Excavator Rotary Brush Cutter puts a 42-inch cutting width at the end of a compatible excavator's boom, helping operators manage vegetation on banks, ditches, and other areas that are difficult to approach with a conventional mower. The 50-inch cutting path and open front and rear deck support controlled positioning around brush and uneven terrain. With the excavator carrying and orienting the attachment, the operator can bring the cutter to the material while respecting the machine's lifting and stability limits.
Bent axis piston motor options let the CXC542 be matched to the excavator's available hydraulic flow and pressure. The three-way rotor carries reversible 1/2-inch AR400 slasher blades, using a tri-swing cutting arrangement to attack vegetation and reduce cut material. Maximum brush capacity is 5-inch maximum brush size; actual cutting performance depends on the selected motor, carrier hydraulics, vegetation, and operator technique.
The 1/4-inch steel deck is reinforced with support channels to form a durable working platform for property reclamation. Large bearing support carries the cutting assembly, and Grade 8 blade fasteners with castle nuts and cotter pins secure the slasher blades. The heavy-duty rotor sandwiches the three-way blade assembly between 1-inch top and bottom plates. A free replacement blade set is supplied with a new cutter, helping keep scheduled blade service straightforward as the working edges wear.
The CXC542 weighs 640 lb and is designed for 3–15 ton tracked; 4.5–17 ton wheeled excavators. The package includes a carrier-matched bolt-on excavator mount. Wires, hoses, and couplers are sold separately. Every offered bent axis piston motor requires a correctly connected case-drain circuit, with the chosen motor matched to its flow range and 3,000–4,000 PSI working pressure.
