About this product
The Air Jordan 9 arrived at a crossroads in Michael Jordan's career. Having retired from professional basketball, he spent a short stint playing baseball for the Birmingham Barons, a Double-A minor league affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, and the Scottsdale Scorpions in the Arizona Fall League.
He wouldn't return to the NBA until the 1994-1995 season, meaning that he never actually wore the Air Jordan 9 in a game. However, the silhouette features one of the most underrated colorways in Jordan Brand history: the "Olive". Simple in its construction, the sneaker sports black on the leather upper, midsole, and outsole, which is offset by a premium suede Light Olive mudguard and True Red accents. A Jumpman logo appears on the heel, as does MJ's number 23, rounding out the design.
