About this product
The Advance SC351: A Cordless 14-Inch Micro Scrubber That Cleans Forward and Backward
A hotel lobby, a restaurant dining room or a school hallway lined with lockers has plenty of floor to clean, but very little open space to turn a scrubber around. The Advance SC351 solves that with a patented rotating deck: push it forward like any scrubber, then tip the handle and the deck swings 180 degrees so you can pull it backward out of corners, from under tables and along walls, picking up water in both directions.
It runs on battery with an onboard charger, so there's no cord to trip over and it charges from any outlet. It scrubs a 14.5-inch path with an 18.7-inch squeegee, holds 2.9 gallons of solution and 3 gallons of recovery, and at 64 dB(A) it's quiet enough for daytime cleaning. Nilfisk lists up to 100 minutes of run time per charge.
AGM or Lithium-Ion?
Choose the AGM if the machine runs once a day and charges overnight. Choose the lithium-ion if several people share it through the day: lithium tolerates quick top-up charges between jobs, weighs 23 pounds less, adds a pad holder and carries a 5-year battery warranty under Nilfisk's US terms. The lithium-ion version costs $264 more.
Why You'll Love the Advance SC351 Micro Scrubber
Rotating deck. Scrub and dry forward and backward, under tables and into corners, without skipping spots.
Brush-assisted drive. The brush does most of the pushing, so long shifts are easier on the operator.
Four operating modes. Off, scrub, scrub and dry, or dry only, with high and low solution flow.
Removable tanks. Lift the solution and recovery tanks off to fill, empty and rinse them at the sink.
Tool-free access. Brush, squeegee and every service point come off without tools.
Folding handle and big rear wheels. Easy to store in a closet and roll over thresholds and up a step.
Runs at 64 dB(A). Nilfisk calls it the quietest in its class, so you can clean during business hours without disturbing guests or patients.
The Owner's Insights on the SC351
The SC351 fits the jobs where a mop is too slow and a 20-inch scrubber is too big: restaurants, convenience stores, restrooms, clinics, classrooms and hotel public areas. Nilfisk rates it at 3,500 to 7,000 square feet an hour in theory; count on about half that once you add refills, edges and furniture. If your daily floor is well over 10,000 square feet, a larger walk-behind will finish sooner.
Two honest notes. The Clarke Vantage 14 is built by Nilfisk on the same platform with the same published specs, and the SC351 AGM costs $579 less, so it's the better buy of the two. And at 146 pounds with the AGM battery, it rolls easily but isn't something you lift into a car; the lithium-ion version saves 23 pounds.
How to Clean a Floor With the SC351
Sweep or dust mop first. Fill the solution tank with water no warmer than 104 °F (40 °C), leaving a little room at the top, and add a low-foam, non-flammable scrubber detergent at the dilution on its label. Choose the scrub and dry mode and the flow rate on the control knob.
Hold the handlebar with both hands and walk forward at a steady pace. To clean backward, lift the handle slightly while the brush turns until the deck swings around, then pull the machine toward you; push forward again to return the deck. For heavy soil, scrub first with the vacuum off, let the solution dwell a few minutes, then pick it up in scrub and dry mode.
After every shift, plug the onboard charger into an outlet until the green light comes on, empty and rinse the recovery tank, and clean the brush, squeegee and vacuum grid. Check the squeegee blades weekly. Use the SC351 indoors on level floors only; the manual limits it to a 2% slope, and it shouldn't be washed down with a hose or pressure washer.
