Acerbis Skid Plate (Black) 2977610001 — KTM / Husqvarna / Gas Gas 250/350
Product Description
Defend your engine cases, frame rails, ignition cover, and water pump area with the Acerbis Skid Plate (2977610001). Engineered for the latest generation of KTM, Husqvarna, and Gas Gas 4-stroke platforms, this guard is constructed from high-density, lightweight polypropylene. This material absorbs energy effectively and will not hold a permanent bend, corrode, or crack during off-road excursions, offering a functional advantage over heavier metal guards.
The Acerbis design features a precise, snug fit that limits the accumulation of mud, dirt, and rocks between the plate and the motor. By providing this barrier, the skid plate keeps your engine bay cleaner and helps your bike run cooler and quieter by dampening mechanical vibration. The simple mounting system allows for rapid installation and removal, ensuring your routine oil changes remain efficient.

Q: Is this skid plate suitable for competitive off-road riding?
A: Yes, its lightweight construction and high-impact resilience make it an excellent choice for protecting engine cases while maintaining optimal bike performance in challenging terrain.
Q: How does this compare to metal skid plates for off-road use?
A: The polypropylene material flexes to absorb impact energy, which prevents the permanent dents and structural deformation often seen with aluminum guards, helping the plate maintain its protective shape over time.
Expert Pro-Tip: Before heading out, ensure your mounting fasteners are torqued to the manufacturer’s specification. Regular inspection ensures the plate remains tight against the frame, preventing debris from getting trapped between the guard and the engine.
