About this product

Three-piece boots have a following for a reason, and the Dalbello Cabrio MV 100 IF is the most accessible way into that design. Instead of a shell that wraps over itself, the Cabrio uses a separate tongue that hinges out of the way, which makes stepping in easy and gives the flex a smoother, more progressive feel than a traditional overlap. Add a medium-volume fit, a lightweight shell polymer, and a liner that's comfortable from the first run, and you get an all-mountain boot that asks very little of the skier.

Why we like it:

The Cabrio Kinetic Tongue is what makes this boot tick; the flex builds gradually and progressively, giving a smooth and intuitive feel.

Who it's for:

Intermediate and advanced skiers who move between groomed runs and softer snow, and who value shock absorption and easy entry over outright precision. The fit is medium-volume with a fairly generous instep, which suits average to slightly wider feet and anyone who struggles to get into a tight overlap shell. Skiers with limited ankle flexibility will appreciate how far the tongue swings clear.

Highlights:

A separate tongue and cuff sit on top of the lower shell rather than overlapping it, so the boot absorbs impacts better, transmits energy more smoothly, and adapts to uneven terrain instead of fighting it. Both shell and cuff are built from DB X-Lite, a lighter polymer than the polyurethane used higher in the range, which is why the boot doesn't feel heavy despite its width. The IF Sport liner is Dalbello's Instant Fit design with integrated padding and a reinforced outer layer, so it feels broken in early. Closure runs through micro-adjustable buckles using the Dynalink and Dynalock system, where the lever engages at an angle and draws the heel back and down rather than simply clamping the shell, backed by a 40mm power strap. Forward lean switches between two positions with a rear insert, spoiler height adjusts for different calf shapes, and GripWalk soles come standard.

Things to consider:

Three-piece boots trade away some of the direct, immediate edge feel a good overlap shell delivers, so skiers chasing maximum precision on hard snow may prefer the Veloce line. The 100 flex is moderate, and a strong or heavy skier will find its ceiling..

Fit & sizing considerations:

Dalbello lists this one at a 101mm last, putting it in medium-volume territory with a slightly more generous instep than the number alone suggests, since the hinged tongue opens wide. Broad forefeet generally get on well here, while low-volume feet may find it roomy.
