The LY-409 doubles the LY-407's ten ounces to twenty, and gains two inches of length and five-eighths of an inch of depth to do it. At nine by six and a quarter this salad bowl is a full course for one diner or a shared side for two, and the extra wall height lets a kitchen toss in the bowl before it goes out.
Depth is what changes the job. A one-and-three-quarter-inch well holds leaves; a two-and-three-eighths-inch one holds leaves with weight on them — grains, beans, roasted vegetables — without the top of the pile standing proud of the rim.
